A 39-year veteran of the hospitality industry, Joe has financed over 500 hotels in 44 states totaling over $2.18 billion.  These include the financing of a number of major franchise and hotel acquisitions: Ramada Inns, Rodeway Inns, Howard Johnson, American Motor Inns, Servico, and Wellesley Inns.

His founding vision for First American Realty Associates derives from his admitted “old school” approach to doing business: Honesty, integrity, outstanding service and certainty of execution.

Joe has written many articles about hotel financing, has been quoted in numerous trade publications, and is a frequent speaker and panelist at national hospitality and franchise conferences ( see list of conferences).

Prior to forming First American Realty, Joe spent 7 years as Vice President of Prime Mortgage Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Prime Motor Inns, Inc.  He served as a member of Prime’s Board of Directors from 1980-92. Joe also sat on the Board of Directors of Cindy’s, Inc., a limited service motel company, from 1981-85.

An attorney by education, Joe received a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Cincinnati and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lafayette College. He is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association and the American Hotel & Lodging Association.
